Performances
June 13th, 20:30 at the Somatische Akademie Berlin,
An extended solo excerpt from Fielding
Following an invitation to share choreographic work derived from somatic practice, I will perform a version of Fielding in solo form, with sound objects created by Marla Hlady, and sound score from Marla Hlady and Eric Chenaux.
Fielding is a performance working with Moveable Cinema, a practice developed through my teaching and research, that orients movement and presence to the visual field; sensed and interacted with, which is scored by sound, object and drawings be Marla Hlady for this performance.
Fielding premiered in November 2017 in Berlin as part of the Tanzfabrik Berlin Open Spaces series.

SINCE: Somatics in Creation at the Somatische Akadamie Berlin
8Days VII
8Days VII Canada. June 19-26th, 2018
8Days in an exceptional gathering of intergenerational Canadian Choreographers with an mandate for artistic and peer to peer exchange that takes place in the frame of 8-days time. This year's version will take place in Port Moody at the edge of Gros Morne Park in Newfoundland.
This unique assemblage brings makers who are spread thousands of kilometres of apart, together in a physical space with a shared intention. It’s a brilliant proposal and I am grateful for its conception and for the vigour it promotes.
Upcoming Workshops
Dymanic Expansion: somatic practice of dance and movement in tune with the Craniosacral principles, incorporating Moveable Cinema practice, heightened visual field perception in movement.
Potsdam May 29th to June 2nd 2018 17:30-19:30
Have a look at the Fabrik Potsdam website for their Tanztage Festival calendar, this workshop in the afternoon is wonderfully situated in terms of time. As we will explore expanded and precise practices for enhanced visual field sensing, one can then go to experience dance performances from this state. One could also take a walk in “Golden Hour” light to a nearby lake and go for a swim.
NEW WORKSHOP!
Craniosacral Movement and Explorations in Dance (working title)
Robert Harris and Shannon Cooney co-teaching
Robert Harris Master teacher and gifted practitioner of Craniosacral invited me as choreographer, dancer, teacher, Craniosacral practitioner and decades-long student/apprentice of his to co-teach an exploratory workshop.
We have the intention guide movement explorations through the overlapping possibilities and intersecting spaces of our practices.
I am full with anticipation for this this golden adventure, imagining one would be attracted to join if they are, a practitioner who wishes to advance and expand their experience of Craniosacral phenomena in movement, for Movers who wish to expand their experience of hands-on practice, or people who simply want to holistically connect to this profound and inherent movement in self and others.
September 29th and 30th 2018, full days (time t.b.c.)
Riverdale Hub, 1326 Gerrard Street East (Little India) Toronto.
Registration to open soon via the Cranial therapy Centre Website.
